It would appear that the Chief has been absent, or more likely absentminded lately.

I find it hard to believe that I haven't posted in over 2 months!  Sorry to all my Faithful listeners, ah... readers.  Here is my plan:

• Over the next few days I will get my self busy and finish up several post that have been in the wings since early May.
• Then the Binge 2011 will begin.  I know I said it last year but I really mean it this year.  The Binge will be smaller this time.
• I will do my best to have at least one new post a week for the next 10 weeks, really!

I should have made this post about a month ago, but...  The photo pretty much speaks for it's self, a year worth of pizza.  Most you have seen on the site in the past year, some not.  I would also like to thank the 5000 visitors the site had last year, an increase of almost 400% over the 999 visitors in 2009.

That was a close one!

Sorry for the interruption.  The Chief Pizza Eater for got to pay the light bill.  All paid and the lights are back on....Situation Normal, now back to our regularly scheduled pizza....

Bump in the road, back on track now.

About one week ago I hit a bump in the road, literally a bump in the road.  The results of the bump in the road are documented in the image above, a broken left collar bone.  It took the wind from my sails for a bit, but I'm back and will be eating pizza again very soon.  You will see some eaten pizza photos very soon.

The Pizza Files Summer Binge 2010..

The second annual Pizza Files Summer Binge is nearly hear, this years binge will start May 27th and end on August 12th.  Last year I had a modest plan to hit eight local pizza joints and find a few while on a road trip out west, in the end I had 25 different pie's (see photo above) from 17 different pizza joints.  I have a similar plan for the 2010 Binge, I would like to visit at least 10 local pizza joints and try to find a few during my travels.

The list that follows is but a suggestion and are in no particular order other than places I have yet to visit and places I have visited.

The first "Quick Bites" is mobile updates of the pizza I'm in the process of eating.  You might see more in a latter post and you might not.

Second is "The Big Guys".  When I'm paying for pizza i tend to go for the local pizza joint, but on occasion I find my self eating pizza from one of the big chains, you know Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut or Little Caesars.  So if you're interested in what I think of them, then click away.  I will try to keep it short and sweet.

It's been forever...

It seems like it has been forever since I last had something file in the PizzaFiles.  I have had pizza a couple of times this month but it was a case of "if somebody else pays" both times leaving me a bit uninspired and struggling to commit them to the interwebs.  I will be eating somebody else's leftover pizza for supper tonight, maybe it will inspire...

I hope to put some time into the PizzaFiles and list some of the pizza and food blogs I read to your right. Look for them in the near future.

I will be having my 42nd annual holiday in about 2 months time and if anybody has a recommendation on a Pizza Joint leave me a comment.  I have one place in mind that I visited this past summer, but I could be swayed...

To paraphrase a another blogger I follow, "Blogging is a Monster that requires constant feeding".  I hope to start the feeding again soon, who knows I might even get off my lazy A## and finnish those "if somebody else pays" post's .

Napoli Pizza, Closed - For Sale.

Today is a sad day for pizza lovers in St. Peters.

When I opened my email this morning I was shocked. The subject line on my first email read: "Napoli Pizza is FOR SALE". I'm on Napoli's email list and normally I get one every week or two with special offers. I was saddened to see today's offer.

The email when on to say that for financial reasons Napoli must close and that they are looking for a buyer immediately. If you are seriously interested in purchasing or no someone who might be send Scott an email at mail@napolipizza.net.

The Binge has begun.

Day 1, the Pizza Files Summer Binge has started. I'm writing this post between bites of Napoli Pizza (One of my favorites), on the menu today is the House Salad, Marinara Pizza and Dessert Pizza (BLISSFUL!!!).

You may have to wait a day or two for me to collect all of my thoughts. Stay Tuned.

Even though the Binge is scheduled for 10 weeks I only have 8 locations picked out, one pizza joint a week with two weeks left for a Bug Run (lobster), but that's another story. I bet I can find a few pizza joints between St Louis and Nova Scotia, Canada...

A list of potential Binge candidates.

3. Caitos Sicilian Restaurant & Pizzeria (Kirkwood).

The Binge will correspond with my wife and daughters trip to the old country to visit family. As it is my wife fear's I will drain the bank accounts and gain 50lbs while she is gone. If she knew about the Binge she would probably cancel her trip and put a stop to it, so it's a good thing she doesn't read the Pizzafiles.com
